and said good bye to “Rock the Boat”

Today marks the 9th anniversary of Aaliyah Dana Haughton’s earthly departure and it leaves some of us still asking why. A triple threat equipped with acting, singing, and dancing talent Aaliyah was our best friend, our sister. We danced with you and rocked your styles even down to the swoop bang over the left eye, boxers, and baggy jeans.

Gone but never forgotten, and never replaced. Aaliyah – We love you.

She changed the sound of R & B working with Timberland and Missy lacing hard beats with her dainty voice. Her influence can still be heard in clubs today, and her memory will live on, RIP Aaliyah.
